Mr. Arnold A. Matte, 65, of 2350 S. 23rd St., Manitowoc, died Friday afternoon, December 27, at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Private family services will be Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Graveside military services will be accorded Mr. Matte by American Legion Drews Bleser Post No. 88.

Mr. Matte was born April 16, 1920 at Manitowoc, son of the late Herbert and Frances Drill Matte. He married the former Dolores M. Fessler on May 25, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic church, Alverno. Mr. Matte was a lifelong Manitowoc resident and member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Red Arrow Division of the United States Army in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Matte was a member of American Legion Drews Bleser Post No. 88 and had been employed by the Manitowoc Board of Education.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores; four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Eileen Matte of Newton, Alan and Tammy Matte of Cato, Francis and Lori Matte of Cato, and John and Susan Matte of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Claire and Peter Pankratz of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Orville and Marion Matte of Manitowoc and Hilary matte of Manitowoc; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Margo and Arthur Perrodin of Newton and Janice and Bruno Ambrose of Marlboro, Massachusetts; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, August and Emma Fessler of Manitowoc; six grandchildren, Anthony, Vickie, Christopher and Jennifer Matte and Alicia and Erica Pankratz and nieces and nephews.

There will be no Sunday evening visitation. Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
