Francis E. Mrotek, 68, of 1620 Madison St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening at Holy Family Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 am Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. John S. Landowski will officiate and burial will be at St. Mary Church Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 88.

Mr. Mrotek was born July 31, 1898 at Manitowoc, son of the late John and Katherine Nespodzany Mrotek. He was a lifelong resident of Manitowoc. He married Martha Frozena June 14, 1922 at Newton. She died in 1930. Oct. 9, 1933 he married Clara Hardrath at Manitowoc. Mr. Mrotek was a member of American Legion Drews-Bleser No. 88 of Manitowoc, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 706 and was a veteran of World War I, serving overseas. He originated and operated Manitowoc Knitting Mills for more than 30 years retiring in 1963.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. James H. (Eleanor) Lawton of Tacoma, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Anton Jacoboski, Mrs. Roland LaFond and Mrs. T.F. Wergin, of Manitowoc and two grandchildren. A daughter preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 pm Friday where the Rosary will be recited 7:30 pm.
