Born Oct. 6, 1943, in Baltimore County, he was the son of the late Roger Carroll and Betty Virginia Tibbs Austin. He was the husband of Ruth Emily Brown Austin.
He was a truck driver for Maryland State Highways. He was an Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 116. He was also a member of the Beaver Run Fish and Game Club.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter Shirley Krebs and husband Mark Sr., of Finksburg; sisters Judy Adami, of Manchester, and Bonnie Lou Austin, of Carroll County; brother Douglas Austin, of Carroll County; grandchildren Christy, Mark and Kyle; and a great-grandson, Samuel V.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Park in Sykesville. -
