The former Mary Ann Yobst was born on November 16, 1918 in Bay Shore, Michigan, daughter of the late John and Barbara (Basil) Yobst. She entered the Convent in 1934 and professed her vows in 1937. Sister Francella earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Holy Family College, Manitowoc and a Master of Arts Degree from Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona. Sister Francella served as a teacher and/or principal at St. Boniface & Holy Innocents, Manitowoc, St. Therese, Appleton, Sacred Heart, Oshkosh, Holy Rosary, Kewaunee, St. Joseph, Sturgeon Bay, St. John the Baptist, Plymouth, St. Michael, Whitelaw, St. Agnes & St. Joseph, Green Bay, Wisconsin; Catholic Central, Menominee, Michigan; St. Catherine & St. Anthony, Topawa, St. Francis, Yuma, St. John's, Komatke, Arizona; St. Nicholas, Zanesville, Ohio; Cathedral, Honolulu, Hawaii and Guardian Angels, West Point, Nebraska. She also served as librarian and helper in the office at St. William, Waukesha and performed various services at Ozanam Home, New Berlin, Roncalli, Manitowoc, Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, St. Pius X. Appleton, St. Francis Xavier, Petoskey, Michigan. Since 2005, she had been residing in St. Rita Health Center at the Motherhouse.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by Sister Barbara Ann Yobst and Sister Leola Yobst.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Placid Stroik, OFM with burial at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2013. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Holy Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
