Killed in the Tatarstan Airlines Flight 363 crash of November 17, 2013 in Kazan, Russia.

She was a talented researcher who lead several projects in both Tatarstan and the Institute of the Higher School of Economics. She and her husband had recently planned a new project to develop postgraduate studies in higher education. On the day of the crash, she and her husband were rushing back home to be with their son. They caught the first available flight and never made it home.

She is survived by her son, Nikita.
