Lloyd Eugene "Griff" Griffith, 77, of White Oak Creek, Alabama, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at his residence after a long battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Selma Funeral Home Chapel, Selma, Ala., with the Rev. Calvin Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the Pineview Memory Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Estelle Griffith of White Oak Creek, Minter, Ala.; a sister, Bobbie Mowry of Orangeburg; six sister-in-laws and three brother-in-laws.

Mr. Griffith was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 29 years of service. He reached the rank of chief master sergeant. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Grand Lodge 926.

Special friends were Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Adams, and Johnny Graddy of Brewton, Ala.

Mr. Griffith will receive full military honors. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the VFW Post 3016.

Selma Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
