A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he passed away Monday September 30, 2013 at the Carpenter House. He was a graduate of Redemptorist High School class of 54. He was employed at Stupp Corp as a supervisor for 26 years. Gerald is survived by his wife of 58 years Beryl Cropper Newman, four children Rhonda N. Moore and husband Scott, Gerald A. Newman Jr., Stacy N. LeBlanc and husband Chris, and Lisa N. Rider and husband Greg, a brother Joseph Earl Newman Jr., and wife Lisa, sister-in-law Anita C. Beazer, husband Joseph C. Beazer, sister-in-law Melanie C. Sullivan, husband Charles Sullivan Jr., brother-in-law C.J. Cropper III, and wife Cathy Eubanks Cropper, 13 grandchildren Dusty Renee' Buell, Whitney Leigh Laubscher, Jakeb (Jake) Ryan Buell, Nicole Marie Newman, Chase Christopher LeBlanc, Amanda Christine LeBlanc, Brooke Alyse Leblanc, Courtney Layne Flinn, Landon Micah Rider, Megan Nicole Avila, Hannah Christine Rider, Weston Lee Rider and Levi Aaron Rider, great-grandchildren Holly Grace Buell, Boston Reed Laubscher, Bricen Carter Buell, Cole Roy Avila, Gabriel Gregory Rider, Emma Grace Flinn, Abigail Lynett Flinn and Ava Rose Flinn, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gerald was preceded in death by his father Joseph Earl Newman Sr., mother Hilda S. Newman and sister Shirley N. Prescott. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Thursday October 4, 2013 from 9:30am till service time at 12pm. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice Carpenter House, and the staff of He Restored Us, and AMG Specialty Hospital.
