Mrs. Nuding with her mother and her sisters, came to America and made their home in Elkhart, Indiana, in 1878.
On January 3, 1882, the deceased was united in marriage to J. H. Nuding at Washington, Illinois. This union was blessed with seven children, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Carrie M. Buffington, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; William O. Nuding, of Gilead, Nebraska; Mrs. Anna E. Gangnon, Wauneta, Nebraska; Mrs. Rose K. Whelton of Mitchell, Nebraska; Mrs. Nellie Carpenter of Palisade, Nebraska; Mrs. Ada R. Reeves of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mrs. Ainie S. Gygi of Elkhart, Indiana. Her husband preceded her in death on December 2, 1920. Three sisters also preceded her.
Our departed sister gave her heart to God when she was 18 years of age. After coming to Wauneta in 1890, she transferred her membership to a Missionary church in 1904, and some later transferred it to the Pilgrim Holiness church at Wauneta, which later became the Immanuel Missionary church, of which she was a member until her departure.
Mrs. Nuding was a faithful and devoted mother. She suffered very patiently during her long illness which held her bedfast for eight months. She never complained about her lot, although the pain became severe during the last few days of her illness. She was fully resigned to the will of God, so on Tuesday evening as the sun was lowering behind the western horizon, her spirit took its flight to the eternal habitations, to the land where there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying. The remains were laid to rest Thursday afternoon in the Mt. Zion cemetery, beside her companion, where the body awaits the resurrection day.
