Leesa Montgomery, 54, of Terre Haute, passed away at 5:38 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, in Kindred Transitional Care Southwood. Leesa was a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who worked in the health care industry for many years in Texas and in Indiana. She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Dorothy Ann Allan Larimer and Lawrence Milton Larimer on Nov. 9, 1958. She married Monty Russell Montgomery on July 2, 1999.
Leesa was preceded in death by her husband, Monty; her father; her maternal grandfather; and both paternal grandparents. She is survived by her grandmother, Dorothy Jane Allan; her mother, Dorothy Ann Allan Larimer; three sisters, Laura Larimer, Rain Larimer-Tittle, and Micki Larimer Kinney, and their families; as well as an uncle and several aunts and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the many caregivers who assisted Leesa throughout her illness. We know that they were instrumental in extending the length and quality of her life.
Leesa was a member of the Eighth Avenue Baptist Church.
On Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. which would have been Leesa's birthday, a Celebration of Life service, led by Pastor Dick Smith, will be held in the sanctuary of the Eighth Avenue Baptist Church at 2128 8th Avenue, Terre Haute. Friends, family and caregivers are invited to attend and are encouraged to share their fond memories of Leesa. A special meal will be prepared by church members and will be served following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Union Hospital Foundation (http://www.unionhospitalfoundation.org/) and/or the Eighth Avenue Baptist Church.
