She was the daughter of Frank Pasek and Anna Pasek, both born in Poland.
On May 12, 1942 as Gienia Pasek, she married Andrew D. Budz at St. Edward's Cathedral at Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas.
Prior to her marriage, she worked as an assistant to the president of the A&P Tea Companyin New York City. During World War II she drove an ambulance for the American Red Cross.
Later in life, she worked at Overlook Medical Center, Summit, New Jersey for 33 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew D. Budz.
Survivors included daughters Deborah Budz-Merklin and Pamela Budz and one grandson, James Moriarty.
