Funeral for Raymond Carpenter, 80, of 1378 Kingstown Parkway, SE, Smyrna, will be held at 12 noon Wednesday in Ward's Glenwood Chapel, with burial in Hartford Cemetery in White River Junction, VT. The Rev. Herbert Chisenhall will officiate.
Carpenter, a retired taxi driver, died Monday. He was a member of Bethany Methodist Church in Smyrna. Surviving are his widow, Minnie N. Nicholson; sons, Col. Donald D. Carpenter of Ft. Monroe, VA; Neil D. Carpenter of Akron, OH; sisters, Mrs. Ethel Fuchini of Tampa, FL; Mrs. Florence Estes of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Virgie Burbank of Kensington, MD, Mrs. Myrtle Lewis of Washington, D.C.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
