Russell H. Murray, 85, of 316 E. Market St., Clearfield, died in the Clearfield Hospital at 3:40 a.m. Sunday.
He was born in Goshen Township, July 3, 1889, a son of Elmer and Margaret (Strawbridge) Murray.
He is survived by his wife, the former Lena Read; a step-daughter, Mrs. Jack (Vivian) Wilson, Clearfield; four step-grandchildren, a number of step-great-grandchildren and these sisters: Mrs. Jeannette Fisher, Mrs. Christine E. Meredith, and Mrs. Marguerite Ganoe, Clearfield; Mrs. Mazie McQuown, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and Mrs. Elma E. Beck, Staten Island, N.Y.
He was a member of West Side United Methodist Church and member and first vice president of the Horseshoe Curve Chapter, Morse Telegraph Club Inc.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Fred B. Leavy Funeral Home. The Rev. John W. Stamm will officiate and interment will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to contribute to their favorite charity.

Funeral services for Russell H. Murray, 85, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Fred B. Leavy Funeral Home. The Rev. John W. Stamm will officiate with interment in Crown Crest Memorial Park.
Mr. Murray, of 311 E. Market St., Clearfield, died in the Clearfield Hospital Sunday.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and until the services tomorrow.
