Leland Wade Mayfield, 66, of Dixon, IL, a former Quincy resident died Sunday, November 1, 1981 in his home.
He was born in Marceline, IL Thursday, December 10, 1914, a son of Lamont and Lena Powell Mayfield. He married Helen Kerley October 23, 1938, in Troy, Lincoln County, Missouri. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Dixon, and Marceline Lodge, AF & AM. He was a retired Forman for the Raynor Manufacturing Co, in Raynor.
Surviving are his wife and three sons, Dale, Michael and Mark, all of Dixon; a brother, Elbert of Sonora, CA.; a sister, Mrs Wilma Robertson of Quincy, and eight grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 am Tuesday in the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. Grave side services will be held at 11 am Wednesday in Quincy Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Bill Riggs. The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
