Leola Violette Paige, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Paige, was born near Vinton, Iowa, March 12, 1901 and passed away at her home near Kennebec, June 11, 1966 at the age of 65 years, 2 months, and 29 days.
She came from a family of six children, two girls and four boys. At an early age, she, with her parents, moved to Lyman County, where much of her remaining life was spent. She taught in several rural schools prior to her marriage. She was baptized June 4, 1926 and gave her life to the Lord soon after that, and later joined the Kennebec Methodist Church.
She was married to Lewie L. Moore April 14, 1928. To this union five children were born. She was preceded in death by an infant son, David Albert, and her parents.
She was afflicted with an ailment for several years and everything that human hands could do was done for her. She was a true and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was always active in community and church work whenever her health permitted.
Leaving to morn her death are her husband, Lewie, three sons, Raymond, Ronald and Lyle, all of Kennebec; one daughter, Fern (Mrs. Roger Best) of Vivian; nine grandchildren, one sister and four brothers, and many other relatives and a host of friends.
