Sidney Edmond Brewbaker, 67, of Buchanan, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Kathryn Craft Brewbaker; and sister, Rachel Corell. Sid retired from Virginia Tech Purchasing Department with over 30 years of service and was an active member of the Old Dominion Historical Fire Society. He also enjoyed auctions, where he bought and sold antiques and collectibles.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Minnie Henderson Brewbaker; sons and daughter-in-law, Jake and Angela Brewbaker, of Columbia, S.C., and Nathan Brewbaker and Melanie Gilmore, of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Tyler, Kathryn, Sydney, and Thomas; sister and brother-in-law, Eva and Dave Smith, of Roanoke; brother-in-law, R.D. Henderson and wife, Cathy; his North Star family; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Marina Gopadze officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to your favorite charity . The family will receive friends immediately following the service until 4 p.m.
