Mary Susan Hinshaw was born to James N. Hinshaw and Lydia Ann (Prince) Hinshaw on February 14, 1876

She married Edward Vanburen "Ed" Morris on December 17,1893 in Jackson Co., Alabama. They had 17 children. Only 7 lived.

Children of Edward Vanburen "Ed" and Mary Susan "Susie" (Hinshaw) Morris:
Charlie Lee (my paternal grandfather), James Calvin, Nancy Jane "Nannie", Hattie A., Mattie Irene, Floyd Edward, and Hubert Ray

Grandma Susie loved to bake and often cooked dinner for 30 people at a time on an old wood cookstove. She would stand and fan the table with her homemade fly swatter to keep flies away and wouldn't eat until everybody else was done. She made sure everyone else had plenty to eat ALWAYS.

She didn't like gossip and NEVER cursed. She was a very sweet Grandma.
