Mrs. Smith was a former manager of Regina Dress Shop, California. She was a semi-pro basketball player for the Red Hot· Chillies in the late 1930s in the Dallas, Texas, Insurance League. She played with_ and against the late Mildred "Babe" Didrikson Zaharias.
She leaves two daughters, Patricia A. Forry, York Haven, and Karen R. Vose, Newport News, Va.; a stepdaughter, Charlotte A. Krueckeburg, Fort Wayne, Ind.; five grandchildren; eight step-. grandchildren; · six great-grandchildren; and four step great grandchildren.
