DEATH OF MRS. SARAH O. BYERS -- An Aged and Well-Known Lady Passes Away Last Night

Mrs. SARAH O. BYERS died Sunday evening at 9 o'clock at the home of her son, C.C. Fechtig, on North Potomac street near the public Square. Her death was due uraemic poisoning, the result of chronic Bright's disease. She was aged 68 years and one month to the day, and had been a lifelong and consistent member of St. John's Lutheran church.

She lived until about a year ago on Locust street, since which time she made her home with her son.
She was twice married her first husband being C.C. Fechtig. To them was born C.C. Fechtig, Esq., the well known groceryman. Her second husband was John J. Byers who has been dead about 12 years.

She leaves a son, two grandchildren, C.C. Fechtig, Jr., and Miss Sallie E. Fechtig; the following sisters: Mrs. William Schildknecht, Mrs. John Ridenour, Mrs. E.M. Mobley, and one brother John M. Carver, Cannon avenue.

She was born in Hagerstown and was therefore one of its oldest and most widely known residents. She was an affable, generous-hearted woman, earnest and always interested in her church, considerate and careful of the feelings of others, and her absence will be long felt among those who she knew.

Funeral Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock; services at St. John's Lutheran church, Rev. Owen officiating; interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
