Beloit Daily News, Friday 5 August 1927
John W. Robinson, for many years a resident of Beloit where he was in the ice business, died last night at 6:30 o'clock at his home where he had lived for the past three years. He had been crippled with rheumatism for some time but his final illness lasted only three weeks.
Mr. Robinson was born in St. Albans, Vt., Dec. 30, 1848 [1847 according to his gravestone], and spent his early years in Illinois around Durand and Shirland. On April 25, 1877, he was married to Miss Henrietta Mller and five years later they moved to Beloit where they lived until moving to Shirland three years ago.
He is survived by his widow, two sons, Van W. Robinson, Detroit, and George Robinson, Chicago, one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Fuller, Beloit, and five grandchildren. He was a member of the Beloit camp of Modern Woodmen and they will have charge of the funeral. Arrangements have not been completed but services probably will be in Beloit.
