Mr. Chandler, a native of Arkansas, lived here 19 years.
He was a World War I Veteran and was a member of the Ashlar Masonic Lodge, Sante Fe Masonic Club, World War I Veterans Barracks, Colton Methodist Church and past commander of the Colton VFW.
Mr. Chandler was an agent for the Santa Fe Railroad in Colton for 42 years until his retirement and was active in the Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts, and coached softball teams here.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel B.; a son, Cmdr. Donald E. Chandler of Falls Church, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Alma Bender of San Bernardino, Mrs. Betty Hendrickson of Lancaster, and Mrs. Carol Ripp of San Luis Obispo; and two sisters, Mrs. Lola Needham of Whittier and Mrs. Ethel Loftin of San Gabriel.

Services for Ernest L. Chandler were held Saturday at Knopsnyders Mortuary, Colton, with Rev. George Norton of the Methodist Church of Chino officiating.
Military graveside services were at Montecito Memorial Park, conducted by VFW Post 6467 of Colton. Pallbearers were William R. Duke, Claude W. McElwain, Harry Mills, R. P. Hammergrin, Harry Reese and John Larimer. Honorary pallbearers were members of Veterans of World War I, Barracks 193, of Colton.
