Frederick Rauber was a lawyer. He was graduated from Holy Cross College, Worcester, Mass, in 1898 and from Cornell Law School in 1900. Admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 1900 and to the New York bar the next year. He practiced law in Rochester until 1908, when he came to New York. For a brief period he worked the Title Guarantee and Trust Company. He was also counsel for the College Point Savings Bank and was attorney and member of the board of control of the Conrad Poppenhusen Association of College of Point, Queens, which provided supplementary education for children of working men. During WWII he was a member of the rationing board in Queens, served on the legal advisory committee of the Selective Service Board there and was on the Legal Assistance Committee for the Armed Forces at Fort Totten. Also, Chairman of the grievance committee, of the Queens County Bar Association and a member of the State Bar Associative and the New York County Lawyers Association. He died at his home, 214-30 27th Avenue, Bayside, on Thursday, March 19, 1953, at the age of 74.

Remarrying Ruth Hance Ferris sometime after 1932, he had moved to New York where he lived in Bayside, Queens, New York, with his wife.
