Obituary for ETHEL MARGARET DURANTE
Ethel M. Durante, 88, of Highland passed away Jan. 6, 2009, at St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino.
She was born June 3, 1920 in Orange, Texas, and lived in Orange County, Calif. for 52 years. She had lived in Highland since 2005.
She was a member of the Anaheim Hills Women’s Club, was a eucharist minister at San Antonio Catholic Church in Anaheim, and worked in the Adopt-a-Family Program for the homeless.
She enjoyed golf, bowling, arts and crafts, and knitting. Her main goal in life was to serve her family.
Survivors include her husband, Armand (Hank) Durante of Highland; a daughter, Ronna Kivisto of Highland; grandson Rob (Paula) Kasprzyk of San Bernardino and Casey Kasprzyk of Westchester; great-grandchildren Aaron, Emily and Sarah Kasprzyk of San Bernardino; nieces, Angela Nikol and Dee Pope of Eugene, Ore., Sherry Wright of Cisco, Texas and Marie Blair of Rockport, Texas.
Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 11, from 3-5 p.m. at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 East Highland Ave., San Bernardino.
Funeral Mass will be Monday, Jan. 12, at 10:30 a.m. at San Antonio Catholic Church, 5800 East Santa Ana Canyon Road, Anaheim.
Burial will follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 Santiago Canyon Road in Orange.
