Melody Sue Ackerson, 56 years old, went to be home with her Lord on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Missouri.
Melody was born to the late James and Barbara Welch Ackerson on July 20, 1957, in Joplin Missouri, where she had lived most of her life.
Melody was a people person always greeting you with a smile and willing to help in way possible. She used those great skills while working at the Lafayette House in Joplin as well as Joplin Cab Company She was also a member of Journey Church in Joplin, Missouri.
Additional survivors include daughter, Shana Miller, Joplin, Missouri; son Lonnie Joel Miller, Joplin, Missouri; Sister, Marsha Atwood, Webb City, Missouri; brother, Darrell Ackerson, Joplin,Missouri; grandchildren, Damian and Dominique Miller; former spouse, Lonnie Miller Joplin, Missouri; several extended family ad great friends as well.
A memorial service will be held 11:30a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at Journey Church to celebrate Melody's Life.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family n care of Parker Mortuary.
