The death of Mrs. Alice Agnew, wife of Joseph B. Agnew, occurred last Thursday afternoon at 3:55 o'clock at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Snyder, in the west part of Winamac. The elderly lady was taken ill at that home during the preceding week, from an attack of flu, which developed into pneumonia. Mrs. Agnew would have been seventy years of age on Feb. 17. She was born near Burlington, Iowa, but came to Winamac with her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Wagoner, when she was a child. Her marriage to Mr. Agnew took place in 1877, and two children were born to them--son Lon of Monon and daughter Mrs. Snyder. Besides the husband, son and daughter, she leaves to mourn her departure nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Snyder on Sunday afternoon, by Rev. J. E. McCloud. Interment in the Winamac cemetery followed.
