Mrs. Myrta Ellen Dye, age
83, well known Richlands
resident died Sunday morn-
ing, March 17 in a local
hospital following a linger-
ing illness.
Mrs. Dye was born in Russell
County, a daughter of the
late Chris and Leah Thompson
dye, both natives of Russell
County. She was educated in
the Russell County schools
and for more than 55 years,
had been a Richlands resident.
Her husband, the late Robert
R. Dye, died in Jan. 1952.
Mrs. Dye is survived by a
daughter, Mrs. Stella Horton
of Richlands; three sons,
Ruey J. Dye, Gaines Dye, both
of Richlands, and Robert Dye
of Bluefield, W. Va.; a sister,
Mrs. Ida McGlothlin of Raven;
13 grandchildren and 23 great-
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in
the chapel of the Farmer
Funeral Home with the Rev. H.
D. Hampton officiating,
assisted by the Rev. Don
Cassidy.
Interment was in the Hankins
Cemetery.
The body remained at the
Farmer Funeral Home.
