Maynard Taylor Jr. of Congress, died Monday, November 23, 1992 at Sun City West. He was 75.
Born March 12, 1917 in Seattle, Washington, he was a self employed Architect and businessman. He was a member of The Army Corp of Engineers in Anchorage, Alaska during WW II. He was the youngest Mayor with the longest term in Anchorage, Alaska.
He moved to Arizona 17 years ago and developed the Paso Del Sol area of Congress. He and his partner, Bill Bittner, were the first to find and drill the first well in Congress. He was active in the Masonic Fraternity, the Elks and the Boy Scouts of America. After his retirement he enjoyed painting and art along with golfing and participating in the D.C. Ride in Wickenburg.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife Levaun of Congress; sons, Tomi Taylor of Trapper Creek, Alaska, Maynard Loren Taylor III of Anchorage, Alaska and daughters Toni Wayas of Wickenburg; grandchildren, Richard, Aaron, Rustin, Kevin, Noelani, Brian and Amy Wayas, and Ryan, Erin, Haley and Conner Taylor.
Visitation for Mr. Taylor will be held Friday, November 27, 1992 at the Church of Latter Day Saints, Alvin Hancock will officiate.
All arrangements were handled by Frey Funeral Home of Wickenburg.
