Ida was the daughter of August and Louise (Kummer) Jaffke. Born in West Prussia, she arrived at Baltimore 14 Apr 1882 with her parents and siblings.
Ida resided for many years at 481 Lovett Avenue, Detroit, with her parents, and worked as a tobacco stripper and a sorter in a factory before she married John Wolnowski, Jr. in 1915.
They lived at 561 (later renumbered as 3817) Livernois Avenue where she became the mother of three. She also raised several children from her husband's previous marriage.
