The highest honor is the gift of the senior class at Harvard University this year falls to Utican John Dolbeare White who has been chosen first marshall of class day. Mr. White was born in this city on August 26, 1883 [His mother was ill & will die the following year-they moved Utica about this time]. He prepared for college at the Hotchkiss school at Lakeville, Conn. where he was prominent in as a athlete and class leader. After two years in the preparatory school he entered college in 1903. In his freshman year he was on the class football team as a half-back and played the same post on his sophomore team.
