He had worked at AMSCO and for the Erie School District, where he retired. He was a creative woodworking artist and carpenter, a musician with several Erie area bands and had been a member of the American Federation of Musicians. He enjoyed cooking and home remodeling.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy H. Fabrizi Abbey; a son, R. Craig Abbey of Erie; and three sisters, Alice Lopez and her husband, Joe of Erie, Lucille "PeeWee" Ruffo and her husband, Joe of Erie and Carol Clore of Florida. He is also survived by three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
