Robert "Bob" A. Bingham, 70, of Taylorville died Wednesday, November 28, 2001, in his home.
He was born December 10, 1930, the son of Eli and Carrie Sinkhorn Bingham. He married Jane Helton on October 8, 1971, in Arthur. He was employed as a truck driver and was manager at the American Legion in Taylorville for 15 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Owaneco Blue Lodge, Masons and Shriners. He served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife; sons: Jeffrey, Michael, Randall (Angie Wicker), and Robert "Bobby" Bingham, all of Taylorville; daughters: Betty Cunningham, Cynthia "Sis" Dunaway, N. Terri (husband Randy) France, all of Taylorville; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; step-son, Michael (wife Nancy) Lovelady of Virginia; step-daughter, Janice Hill of South Carolina; brothers: Norman (wife Margaret) Bingham and Jim (wife Kay) Bingham, both of Elkhart, IN, Edward (wife Edda) Bingham of Aurora and Richard (wife Beverly) Bingham of Taylorville; and sisters: Erma (husband Al) Firnhaber of Taylorville, Mary K. Watson of Owaneco and Billy Ruth (husband Jim) Reams of Elgin. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, in Shafer Funeral Home in Taylorville, with Rev. Greg Nitchman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion and V.F.W.
Visitation will be held for two hours prior to services in the funeral home.
