Gearldean Mignon (Howell) Everett, 91, of Cabiness, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at her residence. Born February 3, 1922 at Cabiness, she was a daughter to France Dea and Mary Ethel "Mollie" (Madding) Howell. She was named after the midwife and neighbor who helped deliver her. She attended school at Cabiness and Stuart. She married Charles August Everett December 30, 1942 and they were stationed at Randolph Field Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. There, they had a son Charles Thomas Everett. After the war, they moved back to McAlester. They lost a son, Frances Dea Everett, 4 days old, and then in 1949 had Mary Ann. The family moved to Double Springs Road in 1956. Both sides of the family had lived there since the early 1900's. She lived there until her death. She was a hard working wife, mother, and neighbor. Her favorite things were cooking, sewing, and reading. A few of her favorite memories were seeing Red Skelton, her favorite comedian, in a live performance. Also, a Gaither Homecoming performance and family reunions. She is survived by her son: Charles Thomas Everett of Cabiness, daughter: Mary Ann Gaberino of Cabiness, grandson: Charles "Dea" Everett and wife, Diana of Vancouver, WA; great-grandson: Charles Forest Everett of Vancouver, great-granddaughter: Hazel Jane Everett of Vancouver, sister: Arta Jewel "Tooter" West of Denison, TX; 21 nieces and nephews; and special friends: Laferne Sherrill and Natalie Maxwell. She was preceded in death by her father: France Dea Howell; her mother: Mary Ethel "Mollie" (Madding) Howell; her husband: Charles August Everett; sister: Allie Bell Hare; brother: Tom Howell; son: Frances Dea; son-in-law: Louis Gaberino; along with 9 nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 29 at the Arpelar Church of the Nazarene with Phil Bray officiating. Interment will be at Arpelar Cemetery. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Don Alexander, Woodrow Hall, Allen Crawford, Ted Alexander, Bobby Justice, Jim Mize, Kent Crawford, and Jeremy Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Sullivan, Paul Lee, Dan Everett, Mike Everett, Joe Howell, Bill Null, Jim Nunn, Lige Harris, Herb Everett, Phil Bray, Jim Madding, and Jim Alexander.
