Armstrong, George J., 75, of 4203 Norcross Road, Hixson, died Tuesday morning in a local hospital. He was the father of the late Sgt. Joe Armstrong, was a member of the Red Bank United Methodist Church, the Men's Bible Class and a member of the Board of Trustees. He was retired from the Success Portrait Co.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Sadler Armstrong; mother, Mrs Minnie Williams of Knoxville; three aunts, one uncle, several cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the North Chapel of the Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Vance Eastridge and the Rev. E. R. Lewis officiating.
Interment will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be the followining nephews; Ted Roberts, Gary Sadler, W. A. Cofer, Allen Cofer, W. A. Cofer III, Ray Standerfer, Steve Frost. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men' Bible Class of Red Bank United Methodist Church, the Joe Armstrong Class of Red Bank United Methodist Church, and employees of Success Portrait Co. The body is at the North Chapel of the Chattanooga Funeral Home, Highway 153, Hixson.
