Pvt. Reilly, 100th Aero Squadron, died in the torpedoing & sinking of the troopship "Tuscania" on 5 February 1918 in the North Channel between Scotland & Ireland by German submarine UB-77.

He was first buried at Kilnaughton, isle of Islay, Scotland, in grave 86. His body was returned to the U.S. on the "Antigone" in September 1920.

His name was entered as Frank D. Reilly on the "Tuscania" passenger roster, and Frank Reilly on the "Antigone." He had listed his father, Martin [sic] J. Reilly, 1795 West 45th Street, Cleveland, Ohio, as his next-of-kin.
