Thelma Lawson was the daughter of Virgie Murphy and Spencer Lawson. She grew up in Hyattstown, MD, and Washington, DC. Finally, they settled in Silver Spring, MD, where they remained for the rest of their lives. She was a graduate of Montgomery Blair High School. Thelma married Claxton Hensley Lawson (no relation), and her parents died in 1980 and 1970. Her younger sister Dora died at the young age of 49 in 1979. Thelma died in 1990, nine days before her 63rd birthday. She was survived by her older brother Spencer, who died in 2002, and her younger siblings, Jack and Beverly. She was my granddad's cousin.
