VERONA -- Mrs. Dorothy Edna Abel, 48, of Verona RD 1, died yesterday morning at Oneida City Hospital where she had been a patient for the past two weeks. She had been in failing health for the past year.
Born at Verona, Feb. 14, 1913, she was the daughter of Henry and Anna Laura Seifert Klein, and had resided in Verona all her life. She was a graduate of Verona High School in 1931.
On her birthday, Feb 14, 1936, she married Roser Abel in Verona. The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in February, 1961.
Mrs. Abel had been employed by Oneida Ltd. for five years prior to her illness. She was a member of the Verona Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Roser Abel who is employed by the New York State Department of Public Works at Rome; one son, Richard, serving in United States Army at Ft. Riley, Kansas; one daughter, Mrs. Peter (Beatrice) Lastowicka, Holland Patent; her father, Henry klein of Blossvale; her mother, Mrs. Anna Laura S. Klein, Verona; three sisters, Mrs. Walter (Evelyn) Dixon, Verona; Mrs. John (Anna Mae) Horodnick, Verona; Mrs. Clayton (Marjorie) Bartholoma of Bartlett; one brother, Clinton Klein of Sylvan Beach; one grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at the late family home, Rev. Rae Brothers, minster of the Verona Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be made in Verona Cemetery.
Friends may call at the family residence tonight and tomorrow afternoon and evening at their convenience.
The Fiore Funeral Home, 303 Main St. Oneida is in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy was a graduate of Verona High School, class of 1931. Erma R. Abel was also a graduated of her class that year and was salutatorian, who later married and was a sister of Dorothy's husband, Roser Abel.
