Peter F. Acero of Fillmore joined his Heavenly Father unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 20, 2013.

Peter was born in Alice, Texas on August 1, 1963. The family moved to Fillmore in 1965. He attended Fillmore High School and afterwards started a career in construction. In 1994 he began working for Local Carpenters Union 150, from which he retired in 2011.

He is predeceased by his father, Serafin R. Acero. He is survived by his mother, Hortencia Acero, his wife, Diane Acero, his children Misty Crystal Ramirez, Peter F. Acero, Jr., Casey Alvarado, Conrad Vega, III, and two grandchildren, Avalon Ramirez, Grace Ryan and yet to be born grandchild Simon Ramirez. He is also survived by five brothers, Jesse, David, Serafin Jr., Michael and Anthony, and three sisters, Sylvia, Rosa and Cindy and a beloved large extended family.

He enjoyed family camping and fishing trips and many family and friend get-togethers. He also loved spending time with his dogs. He was an enthusiastic Dallas Cowboys fan and recently fulfilled a long time wish to watch them play at AT&T Stadium in Texas. All who knew Peter will miss his wonderful smile, laugh and kindness. He left us with a lot of wonderful memories.

Family and friends are invited to the viewing on Monday, December 2, 3-9 p.m., with Rosary at 6 p.m., at Skillin Carroll Mortuary, 600 Central Ave., Fillmore. Funeral Service Tuesday, Dec. 3, 12:30 p.m. at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 1048 W. Ventura St., Filllmore, CA. Burial following at Bardsdale Cemetary, 1698 S. Sespe St., Fillmore. Services entrusted to Skillin-Carroll Mortuary.
