Charles Irvin Beers, 87, of Aliquippa (Hopewell Twp.), died Saturday morning, November 30, 2013, at Heritage Valley Beaver.

Born May 5, 1926, in Bellwood, PA, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Wilda Jane (Morrow) Beers. Mr. Beers had worked as a foreman at Armco Steel, and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Infantry. He enjoyed collecting coins and trains.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Anna 'Jean' (Ziegler) Beers; two sisters-in-law and their late husbands, Martha Mayhue of Raccoon Twp. and her late husband Delbert, and Helen Ziegler of Beaver Falls and her late husband Roy. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner-Director, on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m., when we will proceed to the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown, for military honors at 1 p.m.

Memorials in his name may be made to one's favorite charity.

Members of the Beaver County Special Unit will meet at Mill Creek Hill Cemetery on Tuesday to perform military honors at 1 p.m.
