ALEXANDRIA - Gertrude V. Arnold, 91, 305 Lincoln Ave., died Sunday at Community Hospital after an eight-week illness.

She was born Sept. 23, 1901, in Indiana, and had resided in Alexandria for the past 65 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Alexandria First United Methodist Church, Riley Club, Delta Gamma Sorority, and Tri Kappa Sorority.

Survivors include a son, James H. Arnold of Anderson; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Ivan Arnold, died in 1988 and a daughter, Betty Page, died in 1984.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria with Dr. Michel officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alexandria First United Methodist Church or the Christian Center of Anderson through the funeral home.
