BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
(By Karen's great-granddaughter, Gale Boetius Perez, Find a Grave Member 47724849)

Karen was born in Fredericksberg, Copenhagen, to Carl Emil Blad (1833-1912) and Ida Louise Charlotte Anderson (1838-1913).

Karen married Carl Alphonse Hilarius Boëtius February 3, 1895 at Lund Cathedral. Lund Cathedral is in Sweden but is just 23 miles from Copenhagen. Carl was a Statsaut revisor, meaning chartered accountant. They had another ceremony in Copenhagen May 1, 1895.

Karen and Carl had two sons: Johannes Christian (named after Carl's father), and Poul (born 1900). Johannes emigrated to the United States, and Poul became Finance Minister.

Karen and Carl separated December 23, 1914 and were divorced in 1916. Carl married Sigrid Weinschenk in 1916. Carl and Sigrid had no children together.

In the 1925 Danish census, Karen was living at Bernstorf Lunds Alle 26, Ordrup. The record of her death is in the Church Book of the parish of Ordrup, so her remains may be in Ordrup or at Taastrup. The location of Karen's grave is being researched.
