Edward D. Cool, of Hanover, husband of Betty Becker Cool of Hanover, peacefully entered into God's eternal care December 1, 2013, with his loving family by his side.

Born on Saturday, April 18, 1931, in Table Rock, he was a son of the late Clarence D. and Pauline Miller Cool. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Guy and Norman Cool; and a sister, Viola Ingram.

Edward was a member of St. Paul's (Dubs) United Church of Christ, where he served on the church consistory for many years, and was also the chairman for the Conway Runkle Building project. He had also attended the Hanover First Church of God and proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was the owner of Edward D. Cool Concrete Contractor and Pre-cast Steps for over 30 years.

Mr. Cool was a member of the Patmos Lodge #384 F&AM and the Hanover Royal Arch #310, where he was a past High Priest. He was also a member of the Zembo Shrine Club, the Masonic Order of Cork, the Council of Anointed Kings, and the Order of the Silver Trowel. He was a past Thrice Illustrious Master and past commander of the Bethel Commandery #98.

Edward enjoyed fishing, traveling and most of all, spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 61 years are two daughters, Donna C. Wolfe and husband, Douglas of Hanover, and Sherry C. Meckley and husband Jeffrey of Glenville; five grandsons, Ryan Wolfe and wife Erica, Andy Wolfe and wife Lindsey, and Thomas, Jeremy and Justin Meckley; two great-granddaughters; and one sister, Mabel Garrett of Hanover.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., December 6, 2013 at St. Paul's (Dubs) United Church of Christ, with the Revs. Larry M. Estepp and Dan Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites being rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
