Otto joined the CCC (Civil Conservation Corps) until WWII then enlisted in the Army in Oklahoma, where he married Viola Violet Permann, before leaving for England. He landed about six days after D-Day. He went through France and Germany working as a truck driver and translator till the end of WWII.
Moved to Fargo North Dakota where he went to mechanic school. Lee was born there. Family then moved to Missoula Montana. Where Karen was born. Otto was now in the Montana National Guard as a Sergeant. He became a Warrant Officer, rejoined the Army and was promptly sent to Korea for 13 months. Then was sent to Korea one more time and served one tour in Viet Nam. After, he was at Ft Sam Houston, Alaska, Ft Carson. He retired a CWO4.
Resided in Oregon, Colorado, Arizona. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, traveling, visiting friends and relatives.
Otto is survived by son Lee of California, daughter Karen of Minnesota, granddaughter Gretchen of Alaska. And two sisters Bertha and Wyonna.
Preceded in death by parents, wife Viola, four sisters (Della, Lorraine, Esther, Ruth) and six brothers (Henry, Herbert, Arnold, Walter, Ervin, Jacob).
Otto was laid to rest with beloved wife Viola at the Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery, Chandler, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA.
