Funeral services for Rev. Homer Vernon Bailes, age 91, of Ruston, LA will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Grace United Methodist Church in Ruston, LA. Officiating the service will be Rev. Hulen Warren. Committal service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Coulee Bethel Cemetery in Campti, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.

Rev. Bailes was born May 8, 1922 and passed away December 2, 2013, and is now reunited with his precious wife; Mary Margaret; and daughter; Mary who preceded him in death.

Rev. Bailes was known as a member of the Bailes Brothers who performed at the Grand Ole Opry and the Louisiana Hayride. Among his honors are induction with his brothers in the Country Music Walkway of Stars in Nashville and the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame. He was a retired United Methodist Minister in the Louisiana Conference serving from 1969. His passion was Evangelism and serving the Body of Christ.

Rev. Bailes is survived by his children: Barbara Ellen Barker and husband David, William Joseph Bailes, Ruth Ann Riddle and husband Ronnie, Gloria Jean Graves and husband David, Juanita Louise Howard and husband Marvin, Gleama Yvonne Flovin, Homer Vernon Bailes and wife Diana and John Meares Bailes and wife Vanessa; 27 grandchildren, and many great and great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Davis Holmes, Jordan Holmes, Johnny McFarland, Harry Hinton, Jerry Rugg and James B. Guice.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.

"The angels can take a break tonight. The Bailes Brothers are reunited again.
Heaven must be filled with some pretty sweet tunes. "
