William Franklin, "Frank" Glosson was born about 1822, most likely in Clarke County, Georgia and died after 1880, probably in Hog Mountain, Gwinnett, Georgia. He was the son of James Glosson and his wife Jane "Jinny" Shaw Glosson. Around 1839, Frank married Mary J. "Marie" Arthur, daughter of Lewis Arthur and Nancy Hartsfield Arthur.

The young family was living in Clarke County Georgia in 1840, next door to Mary's parents, one male 15 to 20, one female 10 to 15. The following year, their first child appeared, Lewis A. Glosson, who died in 1863 during the Civil War, in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Lewis' birth was followed by 11 children and possibly one more: James C., born in 1843, married first Mary Etta Andrews and secondly Lena Francis Townley; Nancy Lou, 1844, married to John Richard Adams; Francis Charlotte, 1847, married James Jackson Kimbro; Sarah Jane, 1850, married William Amos Hayes; William Clarke Glosson, 1852, married first, Temperance Jane Haynie (widow of John Ezekial Patrick), then Amanda L. O'Kelley; Martha Elizabeth, 1854, married Raymond Franklin Cross; Elizabeth Ann, 1855, married James Elbert Andrews; Margaret Emmaline, 1857, married Oscar Wallen Kinsey; John Milton, 1859, married first Eda Reeves, then Lucretia Hudson; Nathanial T, 1863, married Nora Augusta Walden; Rueben, said to have been born about 1865 is believed to have passed in childhood, before 1870. One more child is attributed to Frank and Mary, Hubert, although no record remains, the name is passed down some of the Glosson lines.

The Glosson family stayed in Clarke County through at least 1850 where Frank and Mary farmed 200 acres; at some point prior to 1860, the family was living in Gwinnett County, and appeared to be doing quite well with a modest farm.

After the close of the Civil War, Frank's name appeared on a list of Qualified Voters, residence shown as Hog Mountain, and it appears that Frank and Mary remained there until their deaths.

The 1870 census shows Frank was still actively farming, although it seems the circumstances of the family was somewhat reduced, no doubt due to the ravages of the War; five children remained still at home.

By 1880, Frank and Mary were still farming, and only Margaret, 21, John, 20 and Nathan, 18 remained at home helping with the farm. It is uncertain when either Frank or Mary passed away, but some time after the Glosson family appeared on the 1880 census.

No record remains of Frank's burial; a fire in the church destroyed all records of "section A." Although the graves in that area of the cemetery were originally white wooden crosses, no marker remains for Frank and his wife.

Family has stated "Frank and Mary Glosson are buried next to the grave of "Sonny" Adams, the son of Henry H. and Ollie 0. Adams, at Zion Hill Cemetery near Buford,Georgia.

Their graves are located at the foot of the Brown family cemetery lot, facing away from the Brown family lot. The left grave is Johnny Adams, the middle grave is "Dickie" Adams, the right grave is Sonny Adams. Frank and Mary's graves are located to the right of Sonny's grave."
