He married (1) MARY C. DANIEL January 26, 1856 in Residence of Jesse P. Daniel, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, daughter of JESSI P DANIEL and WILLIE ROBERTSON. She was born Abt. 1836 in Northport, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, and died Bef. 1858.
He married (2) ANNIE BOON February 04, 1858 in Olney, Pickens County, Alabama, daughter of THOMAS BOON and MARGARET CRAIG. She was born April 20, 1833 in Pickens District, South Carolina, and died February 11, 1897 in Pickens County, Alabama.

on September 1, 1862 in Columbus, Mississippi
as a private, in Company B, " Lane Guards"
42nd Alabama Infantry,
under Commander Captain Thomas C. Lanier.
Served with the 42d Reg't., Ala., Moore's Brigade, in the "Battle of Corinth Mississippi, Oct 3 -5, 1862.
(Moore's Brigade, Maury's Division, Army of the West, Camp, Lumpkin's Mill, near Holly Springs, Miss.)
He was released as a Prisoner of War from Vicksburg, Mississippi on July 10, 1863.

Death of Mr. L. D. Bailey
The death of Mr. Lawrence D. Bailey occurred on Sunday morning at four o'clock at the summer home of his daughter, Mrs. R. R. Thomson on North River. Mr. Baliey had passed his three score years and ten being 74 years of age and he was one the heroes who wore the gray. How rapidly are the ranks of the old soldiers thinning on earth, how fast are they filling up in Heaven.
Mr. Balley is survived by his two daughters, Mrs. R. R. Thomson, of Tuscaloosa, Mrs. Pink Webb of Gordo and one son, Mr. R. B. Bailey, of Gordo.
The funeral occurred yesterday morning at eleven o'clock at Pleasant Grove in Pickens County.
