The author (Ralph Brock) visited the family home and small Tate Cemetery about 150 feet from the house along with George Murray Tate, Jr on September 7, 2003. Leslie Parker owned a farm,near Bolivar, LA, where they were married about one year after the death of the first husband (Daniel).Leslie sold his farm in Bolivar and they moved to the Daniel Tate Home in Sunny Hill, LA. Leslie was active in business and political affairs. He served on the Police Jury and the School Board . He was a Notary Public. One reference (William Magee & Mary Margaret James & their descendants-William Magee committee-Franklinton, LA pg 339) states that Leslie and Mary Jane were first cousins, however, the author has been unable to find any of Leslie Parker's ancestors and is unable to confirm or deny the first cousin relationship.
However records show that a daughter from the first marriage (Florence Georgianna Tate) married a son from the second marriage (George Walker Parker) making them half-brother and half-sister.
