Born in Manhattan, he settled in New Dorp in 1936.
Mr. Morreale graduated from PS 41 in New Dorp and McKee High School.
He owned and operated Grant Tailors on New Dorp Lane for more than forty years. The business is currently owned and operated by his son, Sebastian (Sammy).
Mr. Morreale was a parishioner of St. Charles R.C. Church, Oakwood.
He was a member of the Italian-American Club in South Beach.
Mr. Morreale enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida, Atlantic City, and Long Beach Island, New Jersey. He also liked the ocean and taking walks on the beach.
"He was fun-loving and enjoyed life to the fullest," said his niece, Tanya Macaluso, on behalf of his family. "He cherished his family and was often found on the dance floor at family parties."
Mr. Morreale 's wife of twenty-seven years, the former Katherine LaMorte, died in 1991.
In addition to his son, Sebastian, surviving are his son, Diego (Dickie); his two daughters, Josephine (Jo-Jo) DeLauro and Lydia Lapolla; two sisters, Marion Macaluso and Antoinette Mennino; a brother, Angelo; his companion of many years, Mary Berdi; his step-daughter, Lisa Berdi; ten grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
The funeral will be held on Friday from the Hanley Funeral Home, with a mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church, both New Dorp.
Burial will follow in Ocean View Cemetery, Oakwood.
