Roland Hamilton passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 after a long illness. He was 90. He was born in Darby, PA, and lived in the Delaware County until moving to Virginia Beach in 1980. Ron loved animals, especially cats. He also was a big fan of all types of music. He was a collector of ancient Egyptian art and a student of its ancient history.
Ron was a retired engineer who had a creative talent for fixing almost anything. He had served in the Navy during WWII. He was the "last man standing" on Witchduck Road during its widening process, and was profiled in the Pilot in February, 2008.

He was preceded in death by his wife. He is survived by his two daughters, Lynn and Carol, his son Chuck, brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Claudia, sister Peggy, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the Sentara Hospice Program and all of Ron's wonderful nurses and caregivers.
