Math Roberts, 81, lifelong resident of the county, died yesterday at the farm home in the Town of Newton. He had been in failing health for ten months.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:15 am from the Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 9:30 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, the Rev. Henry Letz officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
He was born in 1859 near St. Wendel and in 1891 married Miss Mary Helbert. They located on a farm on Route 4, Manitowoc in the Town of Newton. The farm is now operated by a son, Erwin. The couple would have observed their golden wedding in February, 1941.
Survivors are the widow; four sons, Erwin, on the homestead, Nick of New York, Oscar, Route 1, Manitowoc, Charles of this city; brother, Michael of Manistee, Mich.; a sister, Elizabeth of this city; 19 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home. The Rev. Letz will recite the rosary tonight at 7:30 at the funeral home.
