Mrs. F.J.B. King, died at her home on West Central avenue at 5 a.m., Monday March 11, after a severe illness of some four months.
Mary Jane Taylor was born January 17, 1846 at Richville, New York; was married to F.J.B. King in Lee, Illinois, November 28, 1867. They moved to Kansas in the fall of '70 locating in Glencoe township where they resided until 1890 when they moved to El Dorado.
She leaves a devoted husband and three children. Mrs. O.F. Dubach of Colorado Spriings, Clyde and Miss Inez King both of El Dorado; all were with her when she passed away. Mrs. King had lived an active life both in church and social circles until some four months ago when she was taken ill. She had been a member of the Baptist church for many years. Her life was a beautiful example of true christianity. Her aim in life was to do good. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved husband and children. None but those who have sustained such loss, sister, mother or wife, can justly weigh such sorrow as this. But one great consolation is that she died as she lived, patient, loving and self sacrificing and her reward awaited her.
The funeral will be held at the Baptist church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. C.H. Wareham of Wichita and interment will be made in the West cemetery.
