Margaret Ellen Shiflett Hill, 80, of Green Bank, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Born Oct. 19, 1933, at Durbin, she was a daughter of the late John Lawrence Shiflett Sr. and the late Letha Mae Curry Shiflett.

She was a member of Pine Grove Church of the Brethren where she served as deaconess and loved all functions involved with the church. She worked for the Social Security Administration in Baltimore and then became a homemaker and stay at home mom and finally retired as a CNA for Pocahontas Center. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Dallas Hill in 2010; and a brother, John Lawrence

Shiflett Jr.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Margaret Hill Hickson (Kim) of Arbovale; two sons, Johnny Lawrence Hill (Renee) of Green Bank and William Dallas Hill of Arbovale; grandchildren, Melissa Dawn Taylor (Chris) of Green Bank, Jo Autumn Nicole Goldizen (Mike) of Marlinton; and great-grandchildren, Allyson and Kendall Taylor and Michael Wade Goldizen. Also surviving are two sisters, Leona Sheets of Coleman Manor, Md., and Grace Varner (Frank) of Durbin; and two brothers, Jim Shiflett (Twila) of Frank and Allen Shiflett (Bonnie) of

Dunmore.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Pine Grove Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Julian Rittenhouse and Pastor David Rittenhouse officiating. Burial will follow in Arbovale Cemetery Annex.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Arbovale.
